Whoever is born, his death is certain. This is the law of the nature There is no exception to this rule. For millions and crores of years, living beings have been coming into existence and have been leaving this meaningless world after spending their lives. The same sequence will continue in future also. There is not the slightest possibility of any change in this.Although man has been trying to make himself immortal for centuries, it has not been possible yet. Once upon a time. The only son of a woman named Gautami died due to some reason. She loved her son very much. Although this is the quality of every mother, she loves her children the most. She became completely insane after her son's death. Gautami heard from someone that Mahatma Buddha had come to his city.
He had heard that Mahatma Buddha was miraculous. If he wants, he can bring his son back alive. On hearing this, she immediately got up and reached the place where the Tathāgata was present. She went and fell at the feet of Buddha and started crying and requesting that her son be brought back to life. Buddha explained to him that it was not possible to bring his son back to life.
Even then she did not agree. Then Buddha told Gautami that if she brought a pot of water from such a house, he would bless her and bring her son back to life. Gautami wandered throughout the day in the city and village, but she could not find a single pot of water because there was no house in which death had not occurred. She returned to Buddha in despair.
Buddha explained that death is certain for everyone, only the timing is different. Gautami was disillusioned. The next day she performed the last rites of her son and remained engaged in public welfare throughout her life.
